Subarstar Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Heard a lot of conflicting views on VTA dump valves. Just bought a Bailey one, but not sure whether to fit it or not. How many of you guys have a VTA fitted? At the last few meets, listening to the cars coming and going, it sounds as if most scoobs have VTAs. Should I fit it or not?
stephen_fergus2 Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Hi Subarstar, I had a Forge VTA DV .. Had it on my car for about 4 months then took it off .. MUCH better . Pros : Sounds good at the beginning ..then annoying if ur having a blast along country roads when ur on and off the power all the time with the DV going off every 30 secs or so .. Cons : Can cause a good deal less mpg running rich ( was getting 20 on ..29 taken off ) and Im not sure about Baileys .Ive heard they're not so good on scoobs Hope this helps , Steve
ANDYJDMSTI Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Norry, GET IT ON MATE!!!!!.......YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!!! if it is not for you then you can always take it off.
DEVLIN Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 I,ve had a baileys fitted for 2 years. If youve got a turbo youve got to have a dump valve ITS THE LAW
p3dro Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 No probs with mine but its a turbosmart. Fit it Fit it Fit it whoooosh, down country lanes every 10 seconds or so wooo hoooo bring it on.

p3dro Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 << Dont care what others say, I lurve them lol at MY94 passing bus stops (yep, guilty too! ) >> Old peoples reactions are hilarious too, does that make me a bad person
jacqui_robb Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 << does that make me a bad person >> pmsl I think.....NO!
Carl Davey Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Lol, yeah fit one, make it sound like an R5 Turbo... For a millisecond i fancied fitting one to mine, but only for flames!
Subarstar Posted October 10, 2004 Author Posted October 10, 2004 Fitted it! Sounds exactly the way I thought it would. Below 2.5 - 3K revs, virtually nothing, as expected. Beyond 3K revs and it sounds fantastic.
