No sound files just a lot of eye witness accounts of the devastation caused by the volume

With or without the Antilag running

Just ask Rice Rocket, OpelCorsa, STI-ZLV, Coulty, WRC no1 etc They will all tell you how loud it is

I think my picture files are all to large but will try and resize just for you face-icon-small-blush.gif

Meercat exh down in Kilbirnie is the exact same as C+C in Hillington

Custom fit systems to the highest standard ................... face-icon-small-wink.gif

Greersport have a Prodrive 1998 WRC downpipe, ceramic coated , very Gucci. Willie @ Meercat made up a template to "reproduce" the downpipe Its a snakes head design with a splitter separating the wastegate from the exhaust turbine output It cost roughly £260 just for the downpipe, the Prodrive one costs £600+, so it is top value for money If its good enough for Prodrive to fit to the World Rally Cars then its good enough for The Squirrel

A couple of weeks before i got it fitted i was watching a video of Walter Rohrl in the Group B Audi Quattro, which was fitted with a massive side exit spitting flames I thought to myself, i wonder if you could fit that on a Scoob ................ HHHHMMM

Put the car on the ramp and spotted it could be routed between the tank and the floorpan, so it was possible When the time came for me to get the system built and fitted, it was desicion time do i want a Dragger style or do i want a Side Exit, Dragger are like ar*eholes - Everybodies got one

Willie at Meercat told me that a Side Exit without a silencer would be loud, very loud and was i sure thats what i wanted, "Yeah go for it" was the fateful words

8 hours later it was finished, when we started it for the first time, in the garage, think WW2 Spitfire x 10. Headed up the road home, about 15 miles,by the time i got home my right ear was in agony. Starting to think ive made a booboo, after work the next day i ran the car down to Willie to see if there was any way taking the edge off it, Willie was one step ahead of me, he had already made up a silencer because he knew i would be back With the silencer on its still loud but the raw edge has gone and the stereo has become audible, unfortunatly so has Imy .... ONLY KIDDING DEAREST.....cause i know Imy will read this at work

Build quality is spot on, no fouling with a rally style spring loaded sheath connection The icing on the cake was the "Jaunt" on sunday when West Lothian Scoob said my car was spitting flames big style without the Antilag running,a la Group B Impreza. All i need now is the driving talent of Mr Rohrl and another 400 bhp and ill die a very happy man

Brian, when you do eventualy rid your car of they damn restrictive Catalytic Converters, visit Meercat for a Snakeshead downpipe, he also stocks the new Hi Flow Sports Cat which we put on the Group N car to tremendous effect Colin Greer said the car felt like it was decatted, Higgy was telling me on Sunday that he got a 30hp improvement fitting one of these Sport Cats

Cheers Grant,

I am sure there is a C&C connection to Meercat (maybe) - possibly exchange a bit of business etc. I will ask Cameron on Saturday.

I am good mates with C&C so they would defo be getting my custom as they always have done. They are great guys and Cameron is a good mate so would always do me "the business" when it comes to quality and design.

Does not even mind working on my (car 2) Primera - ie Saturday there - new downpipes - bolt sheares (on for 10 years), now going back to get the whole thing stripped down, all new studs, exhaust manifold, downpipe etc gaskets, blahblah ........

Good to know you have gone for something a bit different. My exhaust I think is now called "The One Brian has" I believe when people are in C&C!!!!!!

Yeah, Willie gets on well with the guys at C+C, as you say "exchange of business basis"

Ive always backed you up on C+C stuff because the guys there built us 2 flexi centre sections for the Grp N Astra,1 for the car and 1 spare. Nine rallies later and the original is still together the previous one from Harry Hockley lasted 2 rallies Greersport now use Meercat because he is only round the corner from them and as im always down at Greersport then thats why i got Willie to build mine, saying that i stay only a mile, as the crow flies from C+C, so next time your over at C+C give me a shout and we can meet up for a chat.........without the use of keyboards

<< Yes I did. There was a junction ahead, and I was just checking on Autoroute (laptop) if I should go left or right. Were you the stickered up car that went past? >>

No m8, I was in a white classic.

I saw ure motor parked up the sideroad. Didn't recognise the car from the "jaunt" so I assumed you were a local!

Had I known it was you I would have stopped.

(We had a chat down a Greersport one night, when I was picking up my car, you'll probably not remember.)

Anyway, hope to see you at the next oneface-icon-small-wink.gif

GOD - you mean - arrrrgggghhhh - face to face - oh my God - can I cope with interpersonal ineraction of an REAL kind - my wife thinks I have left home I spend all my time in front of this box!!!!!

Great idea though Grant - I will be at C&C (as far as I remember) on Saturday 18th September AM to pick up my Primera after its new downpipes, flexi joint, new gaskets, studs and nuts etc etc as one sheared whilst trying to get the (original) 10 year old Nissan one off (which was still in remarkable condition as is the rest of the 10 year old system - even after nearly 195,000 miles on the clock) face-icon-small-happy.gifface-icon-small-happy.gif

Johnny,

The car has a Mugen airbox and Magnex catback and performance wise that's it. Was running 207bhp with it's old induction kit so probably about 210/212hp now. I got the rear camber arms replaced under warrenty and got suspension properly aligned at Progrip in Bonnybridge so it's handling really really well face-icon-small-happy.gif Running Dunlop's new SP Sport Maxx tyre on the fronts and that's making a big difference too.

Will have a natter to you at the next SIDC run face-icon-small-smile.gif
