scottishtaffy
got a wee overboost problem now on the ra after it off the road for about 6 weeks. some one mentioned the wastegate was maybe sticking but when i took the rod off the arm the rod sucked back into the diaphram by about 8mm so to put it back on i have to pry the rod back out to slip onto the arm. is this right or what should it be set at. i was thinking that it seemed a lot off load holding the gate shut. scottishtaffy
thats what i thought barry. but as soon as i took off the rod it pinged back and the only way i could get it back on was to lever the rod back out. i thought wastegate when shut then the rod should just be about a mm off the rod. but this is about 8 mm. real tight. scottishtaffy
think it was a sticky wastegate but then had coughing and farting on normal boost. turns out to be the fpr i fitted. so dissconected now and alls good. also baz been looking into the arm settings and the proper preload is apparently about 3 full turns back from the rod being dead over the wastegate arm. that provides the correct preload. and then to up boost a wee bit shorten the arm byt a half turn a time.will post full result once i have it done tho Link to comment
