RosieFreak Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) Seeing as the weather was actually quite nice tonight I decided to sting the plans and work a wee bit on the car, this included removing all the rust and paint from the battery clamp and preparing it for a fresh paint (my car didn't come with one so bought one second hand), fitting new bulbs in sidelights and headlights, trying to resolve the finger sized gap in the passenger side bumper, removing the fog lights and fitting the new covers. It doesn't seem to much but with no experience on working Subaru's what so ever it was good fun and quite interesting!! The front bumper support has completely rusted through so another part needing replaced and wait till you see the corrosion on the fog lights!! There has been some interesting wiring done on the passenger side headlight which was fun Essential music on Yeah my finger went right through!! Very dirty headlight! Getting to grips with the bumper Salt loves fog lights! Wee bit to much fun in the snow Temporary solution!! New covers and bulbs fitted, just need to get them painted now Have to say it was interesting and good fun getting my hands dirty in the car, cant wait for it to be dry again, prob wont be for another few weeks Edited May 16, 2013 by RosieFreak
g1983 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 The good old front bumper bar. Yous looks mint compared to what mine was. Liking the covers
DR Motosport Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Those lights are actually PIAA driving lights and not the standard subaru fog lights, a £350 dealer extra. Shame they're bust as they were unbelievably bright on main beam
mctwistuk Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 The joys of good weather. Here's hoping we get a lot more
RosieFreak Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 I never knew that about the lights, bit of a gutter. But they are not in very good way at all. I dont think I would be able to fix them up :/
thebigfelly Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Nice to see a wee write up of you getting to grips with the motor yourself.
