Northern Safety Camera Partnership deployment intentions w/c 6 May 2013

Northern Safety Camera Partnership Manager, Dougie Bennion, said: ” As summer approaches we will see an increase in the amount of bike riders sharing the road.

“This week I’m urging both motorcyclists and pedal cyclists to make sure they can be seen by other road users by wearing high visibility clothing. I’m also appealing to drivers to take an extra few seconds to look out for motorcyclists and pedal cyclists at junctions and before overtaking etc.

“It’s important for all road users to appreciate that ‘riders’ are vulnerable road users and we all need to share the road space considerately.”
