Glasgow Region Meeting Point

As times change and the location of members that attend meets changes it has been suggested that the meeting point location for the Glasgow meets should move from the hillington harvester to the showcase cinema at bailieston.

If there are no objections then this will get put into action going forward. I say bailieston but some may know it as Coatbridge. It is the one on the m8 Edinburgh road.

Awe can always use the hillington harvester if the run is going to be closer to that neck of the woods.

I think this would benefit mostly other regions when meeting with ourselves, as its 15 miles or so closer to Edinburgh etc.

Obviously the only downside is that spur of the moment attendees, who traditionally associate hillington at 7pm, will not be there, but recently they haven't anyway. And as long as we clearly advertise specific meeting points that should be great :)

From a selfish point of view, Hillington is good for me as it just gives me enough time to get in from work to pick up the car and make it for just after 7pm. The further east we go, the more difficult it is.

However, given the Glasgow meets at Hillington dried up, I agree it is time to try something different and as long as specific meeting points are clearly advertised (says me who can’t even get the date of the meet right), hopefully, it will bring some renew interest in the evening meets.

The showcase does give more opportunities to a lot of runs and other activities if the weather doesn't hold up.

Also for the Edinburgh trip next week. We could try and really get the word out through Facebook and that. It could work out to get more people to meets.
