Clutch Break-In Period

Hi all.I'm a newbie to this site but not impreza ownership. If i'm posting in the wrong area, sorry.

I put a stage 1 exedy organic clutch into the car and was wondering how many miles does it need to break-in?

I was told a couple of hundred so after about 250miles i started giving it a little stick,no full throttle stuff, and i sounded like it was slipping. This also happened when i was breaking heavily from high speeed and going down the gears.

Any answers would be appreciated, i don't want to have to buy a new one and a flywheel.

Was your flywheel worn?

No way it'll slip unless your flywheel was particularly bad. Does the fork have clearance?

Duncan at hypertech replaced the clutch and said the flywheel was ok. Couldn't honestly say about the fork.

No shudder or prob selecting gears and it doesn't happen all the time but when it did I thought. ..f $#@

Whatever happens it shouldn't slip, if it slips the temps increase dramatically. High temps are the destroyer of clutches. If you think it's not right then take it back and ask them to check it out, or you demonstrate the slipping to show the issue. Just don't keep slipping it! :)

I'll take it back n let him have a look at it.

Just had it mapped and itching to give it the beans.

Do you know if sti brembos fit inside wrx 17' wheels?

The brembo's do fit but you will need some wheel spacers at the front! Someone more newage savvy will be along to tell you what size is required. From memory I think it's 5 mm.
