Here we are... Issue: 26th November 2012 Use: Northern Safety Camera Partnership deployment intentions w/c 26 Nobember 2012 Northern Safety Camera Partnership Manager, Dougie Bennion, urges drivers to slow down as winter approaches: ” The speed limit is the maximum speed for driving when conditions are dry and clear but it will be too fast during periods of poor weather conditions. “Visibility can be affected at this time of year due to the winter sun sitting low in the sky, and frost can increase the risk of ice patches so it’s important that we drive at an appropriate speed for the conditions. Slow down and help make the Scottish Highlands safer” All our camera sites have a proven history of collisions and evidence of speeding vehicles. We may from time to time use mobile cameras at other sites where both vehicle and road users are at greater risk, such as road works.
