Northern Safety Camera Partnership deployment w/c 20 August 2012

Northern Safety Camera Partnership Manager, Dougie Bennion, said: “Our aim is to help reduce the number and severity of road casualties in the Scottish highlands by encouraging drivers to keep to an approprate speed within the speed limit.

* Safety camera signs mean that you are on a stretch of road that has a history of collisions and high speeds.

* Speed limits are a maximum not a target.

* Speedometer – checking it could save your licence.

* Set realistic journey times.

* Slow down – help make the Highlands safer”

All our camera sites have a proven history of collisions and evidence of speeding vehicles. We may from time to time use mobile cameras at other sites where both vehicle and road users are at greater risk, such as road works.
