scholesy87
My car had recently started making light vibration noises when braking, only above 50 and as soon as it slows the vibrations stop, it doesn't pull on the steering at all and doesn't do it when just driving along so I presume its the brake discs/pads beyond those useful life...just wondered if anyone else could confirm this, thanks. kennyuk300
Anything from the steering at all ???? My rear brakes were shot ,discs were starting to corode and caused a hell of a vibration through the car but nothing on the steering indicating the rears .. Take your wheels off and see if there is any indication on the discs .. Link to comment
scholesy87
No its from the front but there is no vibration through the wheel, and it stops as soon as you are below 40/45, think ill strip the discs down as the car often sits for 4 to 5 days without moving so it could well be corrosion building up somewhere Link to comment
jebus82
mine does this and i really need new discs n pads. so it could be this. Link to comment
scholesy87
Upon a closer look the front pads seem to have loads of thickness compared to the back so you could well be right. Just seems to be noisy at the front left so i think ill strip and clean every corner to see if that helps, cheers Kenny Link to comment
baldobaz
My 04 wrx calipers where like this, more so the front left, the pads where wearing quicker on the inside than on the outside face, replaced the calipers with sti brembos and fitted standard discs on the rears, its a lot quieter as well. scholesy87
Funny you say thay as its thd front left that seems to where the noise is, its brembo callipers with Godspeed discs and ferrodo pads I believe, or so I was informed by the previous owner Link to comment

scholesy87
The noise is from the front left which was what made me think its the front but it may not be, ill check all over to see, take thd back off aswell and see, you are maybe right tho as the rear pads don't seem to have much depth compared to the front Link to comment

davey l wrx
Been ok on the blob WRX (with standard discs) for some reason the hawk STI and godspeed brakes don't get on. Performance Friction waiting to go on. Edited April 11, 2012 by davey l wrx Link to comment
