Sad day

Well i don't post that much on here and most of you won't know my car as i havn't taken it to any events in about 4 years or so.

Today the poor thing went away to the big carpark in the sky. I've had it for around 9 happy years with no problems in all that time. It's done a few track days, crail days and the Colin McRae memorial along the way. It even got me home with a cambelt idler sticking through the cambelt cover with a snapped bolt.

As the prefacelift cars are getting rare i was in the process of stripping it down with plans to build it looking as standard as possible but running a 2.1 with billet turbo, fully polybushed etc. but as i was cleaning the underside ready for paint i noticed some surface rust in the rear suspension turret (very hard to notice) and after some investigating it turns out they rot inside the rear quarter panels. The only way to sort this is to remove the rear quarters, so after a lot of thinking and stressing i came to the conclusion that it was too much money and hassle to repair as this is something i can't do myself so it had to be scrapped.

So today it was taken away and crushed. i'm absolutely gutted as this was the best car i've had (and was one of the favourites with the old school members who knew it) but it had to be done.

Wether or not i get another remains unanswered as i simply don't know yet.

Cheers for the comments lads. As for wether i get another classic i don't know. Been looking at all sorts but always seem to find myself back at scoobs probably because i know them and have some good contacts, but after so long with one sometimes i think it's time to try something else.
