14N-FR
Halleys were total rip off merchants and a bunch incompetent idiots. 1. My parents bought a Vauxhall Corsa from them brand new and the back bench release was broken. This was identified about 2 weeks after the car was purchased and took straight back to Halleys. They refused to fix it under warranty and would not give back the car until my parents paid for the repair. My parents then had to claim the money back from Vauxhall. 2. My Corsa at the time went in for a 1 year service. It was returned to me with no oil cap so when I went to drive it oil obviously sprayed all over the underside of my bonnet. I had the car towed to my house. The next day when they came to collect the car they insisted on driving it to Halleys garage with no oil and no oil cap! I don't think so! I refused to let them drive it. They then reappeared with an oil cap and 5L of oil. I again refused to let them drive it and insisted on it being towed to the garage. To add insult to injury the drain plug was also not tightened as oil was sitting in a nice little puddle under the car when they loaded it onto the trailer. From this point on my parents and I refused to use them for any sort of servicing or work. I did however see a car I liked on their forecourt and thought buying from them wouldn't be a big deal........... 3. I bought a car from them (make and model will remain under wraps) as they were selling it for a decent price and offered me top money on my trade in. The car was purchased, I went offshore, it was delivered to my house and garaged for 3 months until I came back home. The day I got back I drove it to Andy F for a remap and after the mapping session we noticed the expansion bottle was full of 'gunk'. Head gasket failure obviously. The car was taken back to them the next day. I requested a sniff test and compression test to identify the head gasket failure. The car was returned to me with neither the sniff test done or the compression test carried out and I was told the car was OK (this later was not a smart move on their part as they marked this down on the invoice which their UK headquarters did not take kindly too). I took the car to 'another dealership' who identified the head gasket problem straight away. Good riddance Halleys! Edited March 13, 2012 by 14N-FR Link to comment

g1983
I seen a nice WRX in the forecourt a while ago now. It had changed to AC by then but there was ex-halleys stock from the buy out. needless to say Im still waiting on a call back from the unprofessional staff. only reason i went was for Halleys and when we turned up there Arnold was. They had a couple of beautiful Legacys in though. Link to comment
