60k hawkeye service?

Recommended Posts

My cars due it's 60k service next month (wrx hawkeye) and the local dealers quoted £470 which seems a bit steep. I appreciate there's quite a bit involved but is it worth supplying your own engine and diff oils to save a few quid (eg Opie)? Is there anywhere else in the Highlands that people would recomend for a service?

Thanks SC.

Bitz motorsport in Nairn have a very good reputation, run their own impreza rally car and prepare others - give discount to club members too ;)

most garages wont accept you supplying your own oils now unfortunately

cant remember if 60k is the big service (cambelt, diff & gearbox oils, etc) if it is 470 isnt too bad but still worth giving Bitz a call

Thanks Dave, I'll give them a shout and see how much a difference there is. Cambelt and tensioners were done last year but diff, gearbox fluids and spark plugs need done with this one. Cheers

+1 for Bitz motorsport.. Not used them myself.. yet.. I do all the work on my own car myself.. But quite tempted to let them have a good look over my bugeye, just to make sure all is well, it's been 4 years since it's had any 'official' service ;)..

You'll be happy to hear they will let you supply parts and they will only charge you labour!.. As dave says they have been running Impreza's in teh scottish rally for years now so know there way around Scoobs

If you can try speak to 'Dave' (not Dave above ) when calling Bitz.. He'll see you right, and point you in the direction for any parts you need to get before hand.. :icon_salut:

Also extra discount available on labour at Bitz as a paid up SIDC member with a valid membership card :wizard:

Just an update, there wasn't a huge amount in it by the time I took distance/petrol into consideration so went with Aird Motors and couldn't fault there service.
