impreza restrictor valve?

Ok my 2000"X" impreza is still running poor under 3000rpm but ok above.

Have just noticed that there is no restrictor valve in the vacume pipes at the turbo/actuator!!

Do i need to have this and would this be the cause to all my surging probs under 3000rpm

Im no good with cars and all i can offer is have you got someone local with the same car you can pinch it off and try ? might be the answer , maybe someone with more knowldge will jump in and give you an indication

ok i now have 3 different sizes to try, which hose should i put it in?

Is it in the hosr between the turbo and "T" piece towards the auctuator

or

]the hose from the "T" piece to the map sensor?
