tatty
just read my ecu and found fault code 23 stored AIR FLOW have now reset and disconected the battery. the prob i had was it felt as if the car was having the brakes applied on and off as you drive. So will find out later on a drive if this has cured the fault, if not where can i find a good air flow meter for my car? Martin Link to comment
wilky
What year and model do you own? Take a chance on ebay or go to a dealer who will quite possibly order the wrong one. You need to be quite clear as to which one you require, and they are not cheap. You do get the odd one popping up for sale on the forums but its hit or miss how long it will last. Check your connections to the MAF sensor and if have taken it off shine a torch into it and have a look at the elements or film inside. I do know of one person who had success cleaning it with brake cleaner but I know of too many who have broken it trying so I would not do that. Link to comment
lewisscoob
Code 23 is for the MAF Sensor and circuit so make sure you check all the wiring connections too. Get a new one from a Subaru dealer. Link to comment
tatty
ok after fitting standard air box back on and taking for a decent drive i have convinced myself that it is still doing the same, drawing up then easing away again, feels like boost BUT I had car running at my house and unplugged the maf while running, the car did not stop when unplugged, it almost cut out but then just kept running. I expected it to stall............ which would tell me maf was ok The fact that it kept going makes me feel that the maf is goosed??????????? Does this sound right to everybody? Getting frustraiting now?? (( Link to comment
lewisscoob
Engine not dying when MAF is pulled isnt a stone wall knackered MAF. Not sure whats wrong to be honest. Oh and thanks for not replying to my text, i've been running around all weekend with the airbox in my car. Link to comment
