Alford: The Aftermath

Just a wee shout out to everyone who helped out with SIDC @ Alford 2011 last weekend and made it the success that it was! Well done! CLICKY FOR PICS

The "setup crew" had a cracking run up on the Saturday afternoon - sadly net of a Badger... but there was always the RB320 to fall back on... Some folk have it tough...

A bit of hard graft in the rain saw the bails and safety barriers whipped up in record time before a well earned knees-up at the Haughton Arms. Good food, good drink and good craic - big thanks for all the hard graft.

A pretty decent turnout ensued on sunday in-spite of the less-than-perfect weather and a very selfless team of marshals kept the day running safely and smoothly throughout and then all pitched in to help with a necessarily swift clear-up in the face of a torrential rainstorm - thanks guys!

Special thanks to (in no particular order):

Peter for the Show and Shine trophies donated free-gratis...

The Ice-Cream Man, & Dale for sorting his attendance...

Phil for being our Ibiza fire-fighter extraordinaire - good news on this front to be read elsewhere, you'll be pleased to know...

Al, Dave and John for stepping in for the Show and Shine judging...

Lorna for (wo)manning the tower and track sign-ups...

Dave for organising coverage in the Press and Journal and bringing the RA shiny bits...

Malcolm and the GTM crew for their hosting support...

Del, for bringing my car back in one piece. ;) ...

Cathy for being Queen of the chequered flag...

Matty and the Pistonheads guys for bringing their stand and joining in the action...

...And once again all the bods who pitched in to help with setup, clear-up and marshalling :icon_salut::icon_salut::icon_salut:

Finally, a big thanks to everyone who turned up and made the day a success - there would have been no point without you all. your feedback is greatly valued and will all be taken into consideration when planning for next year's event!

Roll on ALFORD 2012!!!

And we all must say a big thank you back to you Glyn. I've never been to anything which had so little planning and an (dis)organiser puking in the woods with 5mins to go. Talk about winging it!

You got there in the end, god knows how, but a great day was had by all - and you got soaked at the end which serves you right for being a total jakey :icon_butt:

Yes, roll on 2012 and a venue where you are allowed to turn left :boldblue:

:iagree: Glyn, Great work on the day. Thrown in the deep end and pulled it off in style! Nice one for stepping up to the commentary booth, although maybe get less pro-hatch material next time  Yeah, we noticed...

Great work by all involved this year, SIDC Stand was great improvement over previous years.. Well done for the guys who came up the day before and stayed overnight in Alford :icon_salut:

I know it's said everyear, but hopefully get some more people along next year to help support the event! I'll be there lending a hand hopefully. Definately left a lasting impression from some of the visitors (SEAT anyone :o ) who have promised to come back next year with a few more cars!

... Just wish the day was a bit longer, seemed to pass all too quickly :crying: Although probably best since the rain came in by force at the end. No SIDC parade lapping this year :driving:

Nice to see this went well. Would like to have made it up but car is still in bits.

Kept getting told off last year for going the same route as the sprint is run.

Cheers guys (Except Baz! *lol*)

great write up Glyn and pleased that things went well.

perhaps we can get a McRae Vision car/presence for next year, it might boost your numbers :driving:

You hereby have an open invitation, Imy...

...as do any and all other clubs/ retailers who wanna be part of this next year and beyond.

As before, ongoing feedback appreciated (constructive please!)... Glad it's been well enjoyed and thanks again.

Yeah, on Doctors orders you are not allowed more than 2 pints of  or you will be :barf: in the trees again

Huey indeed!

Need to reprimand you for those pics Craig... you're CLEARLY inside the safety cordon and should be flogged accordingly!

But at least 2 pints makes for a cheaper night out! *lol*
