Terry Butcher Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 I did a few sums and read a few books and thought that if I improved the breathing of the Mighty Flat Four it would become more fuel efficient - hence greener - and please the Government. Imagine how shocked I was to find that my sums were wrong and in fact the car is not leaner but meaner instead!!! What have I done? It has put an insane smile on my face that will not go away at the moment.
kennyuk300 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Could you please show me the figures ,just for safety's sake you understand Kenny
Terry Butcher Posted January 20, 2011 Author Posted January 20, 2011 erm - NO! Was so embarrassed that it was not any more fuel efficient that I binned them and then gave myself a good talking to. Needless to say it is a smidge over the standard 227bhp now! The upgraded 255 lph fuel pump, cold air induction, Samco 76mm induction hose, Ninja II back box and through pipe centre section with front section sports cats have added at least 1 bhp so I have upgraded the brake pipes and put go faster grills on the front - all in the interests of safer stopping and as a warning to others that this car will be faster than their 1.2 Corsa, just in case they had not realised that it would be anyway as it is a blue one!. Just got to chav it up with a noisy BOV and then get a remap and we should hit 230bhp, lol.
kennyuk300 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 God damn that fuel efficiency.. Why could you not be better Now you will need to go faster Yes good work in quest to stop better and to let them little boy racer corsa drivers that go-faster grills and blue paint mean business I admire your resolve Kenny
jd Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Fuel efficiency on a scoob? hahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhah (falls off seat)
jd Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Once mapped the off boost fuel economy will be improved over standard, but then when you push the loud pedal...................................
Terry Butcher Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 But I am a good boy sir and would not dream of making a lot of noise and upsetting the neighbours - no sir not me sir
Terry Butcher Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 oh dear. I suppose a Ninja 2 is a bit tiny and quiet
Terry Butcher Posted January 30, 2011 Author Posted January 30, 2011 After a nice long journey I have discvered that my original sums WERE correct and additionally the car goes faster and quicker!!

Terry Butcher Posted March 13, 2011 Author Posted March 13, 2011 Have fitted the Forge BOV and that has not made it more efficient either gonna decat the downpipe now and put a bigger tmic on, something will make it much better I am sure
Terry Butcher Posted March 14, 2011 Author Posted March 14, 2011 I went to a local car bits shop and bought the letters individually. Been on the car for about a year now. Had a few chavs comment about it, lol. Regardless of what they have said the car still goes quicker than their Saxos.
