Dougs Scoob Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 I was up there last May in the scoob. Round trip from home - (Falkirk) - Dornoch - Thurso - Loch Inver - Inverness - Home via Glencoe. Have to say the roads were fantastic. Great fun! Stayed in a wee b&b in Thurso. Dont know if I could answer any of your questions though but if I can I will.

Great fun! That sounds worth a shot - I need to get me out on a real run this spring, and to feck with the petrol costs!

trogg Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 thats a bit wuff Barry cheers mate - was there vpower/99 ron in thurso? From memory there is not a Shell station in Thurso, there is an Esso and Gleaner. Other Gleaner stations have super unleaded but I'm not sure what Ron it is. There are no Shell stations in the north west past Glasgow and north of Inverness area. There used to be but now most seem to be branded Gleaner, not sure if they still use Shell fuel or not though. I've used the one in Kyle for 'Super' and have had no ill effects. There is a Tesco in Wick but I'm not sure if it stocks Momentum/99.
Dougs Scoob Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 There is a tesco in Wick and im sure it did stock the momentum. That was the last place we filled up with super. Had to top up a little in LochInver at a Gleaner station to make sure we had enough until we reached Inverness. Gleaner only had 95 Ron which -last May- cost £1.30 p litre so god knows how much it'll be now!!! So after Wick going North thats the last place I know of anyway that you'll get super until your back down that way. Keep yourself topped up as stations are far and few between. It was a great drive on great roads that are quiet with exceptional scenery. Can't wait to get back up there again sometime soon! Amazing!
trogg Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I'm sure the Gleaner in Ullapool has Super (prob 97)
