Joe G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 (edited) Went to fill up the car today. Nearly keeled over when i saw that overnight the price on the Island had gone up by 7p a litre!! Now at £1.36 for 95 ron!! And diesel £1.38!! I know there was a vat increase but 2.5% doesnt add up to a 7p increase or is my maths just crap!! lol Not nice when its costs 55quid to fill up from quarter of a tank! Shocking if you ask me!! Just as well i run a 95 ron map as well as a 99!! As octane booster aint cheap these days either!! Joe Edited January 4, 2011 by Joe G
neill54 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 So that's if my maths are any good average fill say 60 litres depending on car type is about another £3 odds that's shit!! So glad I run two cars at the mo!! And the wife was asking why i was looking at jobs abroad last night!! Neil

thebigfelly Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 lol probably cheaper to import it in bulk to the island
terzo neil Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 thank god, i have a diesel transit to run about in (company fuel card )

bobbyc Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 (edited) Filled up the cars day before the vat increase Van took £86 but will get around 750 miles from that RA £56 for v-power Thank **** I got rid of the GB £435 for road Tax, £500 for Ins, £125 for an oil service & £56 for a tank of V-power before you turn a wheel the government is making Subaru ownership a very expensive hobby Edited January 4, 2011 by bobbyc
mystery machine Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Rising oil prices + VAT rise + forthcoming fuel duty increase = taking the p1ss in a big way Time to blockade the refineries again
mystery machine Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 And the wife was asking why i was looking at jobs abroad last night!! Good plan - Britain has had the arse torn out of it beyond recognition
Joe G Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 Time to blockade the refineries again Im def up for that!!
neill54 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Never mind the petrol prices I bought a loaf of bread for the first time in a while ef me £1.28!! Total joke! Neil
05WRX Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Defo looking to get cheap runaround this year. Can't justify running a a scoob as an everyday car now.
kennyuk300 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Went down to Coleford (Glouscester) on Christmas night ,Charnock Richard's V Power was £137.9p And Keele service Station was £139.9 Kenny
BalliSTIc Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 We moan about Vpower and getting cheap runarounds... don't forget ALL fuel is going up so you're not THAT much better off. Plus, given that the differential between 95RON and 99RON stays about the same (7-8p locally AFAIK), the extra we pay per litre for the privilege is RELATIVELY reduced... sort of... Hmph... just trying to put a cheery slant on it! *lol*
