Andy GB270 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I took the car out earlier to top up the tank and it fel like it was pulling slightly to the left on the drive home, so had a look at it when I got in and the NSF tyre was looking a bit low in pressure, so I thought. Just been out to the car to pop my stuff in it ready for the drive to work tomorrow and it's nursing a pancake instead of a tyre... Wonderful, they were only replaced a month ago so I'll have to pinch the wife's BLandrover tomorrow and have a proper look in the daylight. Anyone know of any good value tyre supplier / fitter in Glasgow or Ayrshire that isn't going to rub their hands with glee like Kwik Fit seem to?
Vir Cotto Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Driving home from work tonight. Down a hill, nose to tail traffic. The car did not seem to roll as easy as usually does, and, it was pulling to the left. NSF, 2 week old T1R, dead.
Vir Cotto Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 A friendly tyre services patched the tyre, the puncture is on the tread area. What experience has anyone got of this? Can I trust it/"lean" on it?
supremeweb Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Patches are just as good as a new tyre if: a - done correctly b - correct size patch used c - plugged if hole is visably open d - on a flatish part of the tyre Sillets are good for this, I know of motor bike racers using patched tyres to race on.
lewisscoob Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 And I've just figured out who mr vir cotto is, im not the sharpest these days. How's tricks George?
Andy GB270 Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 Managed to get mine repaired too, a tiny wee screw right in the middle of the tread. So pleased it didn't need a new tyre at this time of year!
