sti pretender Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) Most people move to coilovers as there is no real alternatives to KYB's. Have a look at BC coilovers, there is also AP (not the brake people) and V-maxx all about the same price but not heard much about these. Bit more expensive are Tein (although a few have had issues with these), Eibach and KW Variant 1 Then there are the real expensive Ohlins and Exe-tc. Alot of people are using the BC's. Hypertech can supply and fit and do a geo setup or shop around, fit them yourself and get a geo to save a bit more. Robert Edited November 26, 2010 by STI Pretender
subarucraig Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 i just bought full set of bc coilovers from scoobeynet on e ebay as they were cheaper than going to company direct plus free delivery think they were £650 but included extenders for rear adjustment were also delivered within 2 days
TrackScotland Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 do some homework before potentially wasting £600 over wisely spending say £1.2k How much are Nitrons?
Joe G Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I fitted bc coilovers to my old spec c and had no complaints whatsoever with them. Great coilovers IMO for the price and were much more comfortable on the road than the tein's i had on a previous impreza. Worth going for the rear strut dampening adjustment extenders as an extra to save taking the rear bench out to adjust the rear dampening. Think the extenders were an extra 40 quid. Joe
dark Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Had BC's for a year without problems. Make sure you use the rubber (OEM style) rear top mounts to avoid the knocking issue and get the rear adjustment extenders. A set of camber bolts for the rear are also worthwhile fitting at the same time. A final trick is to rotate the front top mounts so that you can adjust for both camber & castor at the same time! Mark
