Ecu Remap

Looking for some info ,i seen a post on another thread on here that pre 1997 classic ecu's can't be mapped -is this correct ? If so what can be done to get gains from de-catting ,uprated air filer /induction kit etc ?

Any info great appreciated.

nope only 97/98 cars cant have original ecu mapped, there was talk on even it being done on mass but it hasnt materialised. have a look on andy forrests site.

I think you need to buy a stand alone ECU like Simtek or Autronic etc, before mapping.

Yea you can still get them bud, I got mine from a company called Indigo GT.
