WRX04 Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Hi, Has anyone got instructions for wiring a set of driving lamps into a blobeye? I got my driving lamps wired up to replace the foglights and as done on previous cars took my switch wire from the wire on the main beam to the relay. One of the main beam wires puts driving lamps on with dipped and main beam, the other one puts driving lamps on with dipped but they go off when on full beam. Where else can I tap into or is there another way I need to do this? Cheers.
scooby222 Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 mine come on with main beam but only if the front fog light button is on as well - not sure how it works as the garage did it
scouk Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 One of my less 'tidier' modifications to the car... I took a signal from the full beam lamp line on the dashboard and fed that through the fog switch to the relay.. Not pretty but means driving lamps only come on with full beam (or at least light is on) and fog switch on... I did it all with connectors behind the dash so it's easy to switch back.. One of these days I'll go back and make it switchable.. I tend to stick the fogs back on in the summer and keep the driving lamps for winter...
Scooby Wagon Addict Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 What driving lamps have any of you fitted? Has anyone fitted LED DRLs like the new VWs and Mercs ? Or do you think that'd look chavy?
scouk Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Personally, I'd say that' was a bit chavvy.. Idealle the PIAA's are the ones to go for, but I went for a cheaper option and bought a set of Hella 550FF's from the US. They hmake a HUGE difference at night!! Although because they stick out a few inched further than the fogs, they spoil the look of the car somewhat...
