I thought you were always best to replace both at once.

I wouldnt bother changing a flywheel when changing a clutch but i would mate the new clutch to the old flywheel and have them balanced and maybe lighten the flywheel. Just my opinion. Others may see it different.
scooby222 Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 hi mate, how many miles has your current clutch done? how long are you keeping her and have you any future plans for more power? unless your keeping for a long time or going up over 400hp id go with the standard exedy
burgy_51_ Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 so as long as i stay under 400bhp the standard exedy ok what about my torque on my car is 400
euan_r Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 is it 5spd or 6sp? at 400 torque i would be fitting uprated exedy myself. would also fit lightweigh flywheel if its a laggy turbo, otherwise i would definatly get flywheel skimmed + new spigot bearing. possibly rear crank seal depending on age.
scooby222 Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 newage sti 6 speed euan so should be ok with 400 lbft on the regular exedy, which is uprated from the standard subaru already i believe
BalliSTIc Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 For the sake of £300... fit the uprated one! You just know you'll wish you had otherwise! *lol*
