wrx kenny Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 i have been trying to source one of those chrome cold air intake pipes that seem to go through the center of the fog light cover, are these bought as a complete unit ie pipe and fog cover or as individul units and where from . my thanks in advance for answers kenny
badbaz Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I used a fog light surround and then bought a cold air intake kit from here I've got a blue one on mine and it worked out well, I'm personally not fond of the silver/chrome look - only down side is the wire inside the hose rusts and looks a bit sh!t, would have been better if stainless. How's car anyway, running? Mapped?
badbaz Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Getting the right size was tricky as they are sold by pipe diameter so had to do a bit of emailing to get the right size. Ideally it would have been better if mine had been about 2mm bigger as it was practically exact size for the hole. I glued mine in and then used sickaflex (sp?) to make sure it wasn't ever coming off! Looky see And how it looked on the car
C_WRX Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 (edited) So you're not planning on a replacement filter, and going for a cone then Kenny ? In Barry's last time found a rabbit, old ladies shopping basket......and some familiar looking gravel!!??? Must admit that from the outside Barry's look faily neat n tidy given diy. flat4phil Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Did you ever sort this out? I used to buy cold air feed kits from Exhausts UK, or Cobra Sport before they turned superstars on scoobynet. I have a spare polished stainless steel 'bell mouth' you could try? My plan was to either fit the 'rolled' edge bell mouth in place of the driving light. If that didn't work out, I would purchase cheap set of ABS fog light covers, or those with mesh inserts, and mount the bell mouth into that.
