Richie Cross
Hi folks, Our second car is a Renault Grand Scenic and a wee while ago it developed some issue with the starter button. Well...when you press the button there was a grating type noise and it would cut out. Might take a couple of starts to get it running again. Doesn't happen all the time. Anyway..it was in for a service today down in Irvine and they said the problem was something to do with the dephaser. If that gets replaced, they have to do the timing belt at the same time. And they'll fix it for the bargain price of......£700!!! Is this just another stealers price? Should any garage be able to fix it? Anyone know of any good Renault specific garages? Will I be taking my Scenic round to Greers?? Cheers Link to comment

Hi Barry Didn't get a breakdown. There was just a mention of it on the printout for the service. Just said £700 inc VAT The car's a 2005 Grand Scenic. It's the 1.6 vvt engine cheers Link to comment
