boab type ra Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 finished puting a new gearbox in my 94 wrx type ra, took it out a test drive and went ok but when i go over 4500 rpm it stutters and the engine check light is on can anyone help!
giz1978 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 check your vac piping and get the ecu read sounds like maf sensor
johnnyr6 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Sounds weird as you shouldn't have disturbed anything significant changing a box. I take it it was fine before the box change. Do a search as iirc there is a way to get the code on classics without a reader by connecting a couple of wires under the dash. A few things to check include boost hoses, coilpacks and connections. If your still stuck and i'm free your welcome to bring it round to mine and try my maf etc. to rule stuff out. Johnny
boab type ra Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 Thanks guys i will try a different maf my girlfriend scoob is still in the drive way so i will try hers
boab type ra Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 just tryed to check for faults and it had cleared itself on test drive happend again and tryed to find fault, the check engine light stayed on and didn`t flash, started the car and the light was still on, tryed to find the fault again and check engine light stayed on so started the engine and the engine check light was out i`m confused.com
Big 'D' Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 By checking for faults have you been connecting the 2 black connectors under the dash then switching the ignition on (dash lights on engine off)? Cheers Iain
