stuarted Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 My mate is looking at a bug with the above mods. Being a P1 man i'm automatically thinking it should have been remapped which as far as we know, it hasn't. Anyone clear this up for me please? Cheers
C_WRX Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 With ppp is that not basically the sportscat exhaust system, y-pipe and remap ?? In which case if the 3" exhaust is the whole lot (inc downpipe) then I'd say it does need a remap, and it is beyond the ppp given the dp cat is totally gone. Just my thoughts.
stuarted Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 (edited) it's an aftermarket full 3" decat system to clarify including downpipe Edited April 15, 2010 by stuarted
marko72 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 andy f told me if you are removing cats then it really should be remap time
tomwrx08 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 on the newage if the downpipe/front pipe is changed or an induction kit is fitted to it and it hasnt been mapped, then i would get it done asap before it goes bang has the exhaust been changed from the one fitted when the ppp was done ?
trackhound Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 I would definately recommend remapping the car if an aftermarket induction kit has been fitted as this can often skew the maf cailbration causing the car to run lean. I have seen a number of newage cars which have large negative fuel trims stored on the ECU as a result of this. Cheers Alistair
