Guest sti3_lewak Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Whats the benfit of them to the normal fuel rail system? Cheers Dave
Big 'D' Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) Whats the benfit of them to the normal fuel rail system?Cheers Dave Ok here goes, for a start these rails are insulated from direct heat from the engine which helps keep fuel temps down I guess then instead of the fuel having to go in series between 4-2-1-3 which is the route it takes as standard it is spread more even in parallel by feeding 1+3 and 2+4 cylinders. Plus I can run Phase 2 550cc injectors. Oh and it looks nice Cheers Iain Edited April 14, 2010 by Big 'D'
Vimmy Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Time to fit a tow bar Iain, get a wee fuel bowser on the back
Big 'D' Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 Time to fit a tow bar Iain, get a wee fuel bowser on the back What with the price of fuel these days it may become the weekend runabout Cheers Iain
Big 'D' Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 Hi Guys Here is the full list of my new fuel rail setup Rails from Carl Davey 550cc Nismo Injectors from Lateral Performance Hose and end fittings from Earls and RCM Mini Fuel Lab fuel pressure regulator from Lateral Performance. I cant wait to fit it all Cheers Iain
Big 'D' Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 Just spent the better part of yesterday evening and today resealing my exhaust system and wrapping the up-pipe and down pipe, I did not have enough for the manifold but what a difference it makes to the overall engine noise with just those pipes wrapped 35 days to Simtek Cheers Iain
myles Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Holy moley mate, things are really motoring along! Power estimate after Simtek?
Big 'D' Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 Holy moley mate, things are really motoring along! Power estimate after Simtek? The current power figures are in dispute mate so I could not say really, my best guess would be ......... LOADS Cheers Iain
Big 'D' Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 Dispute between who and who? That does not matter mate, the 1/4 mile figures speak volumes, if the car is less than 350bhp then its even better than I thought, if you see what I mean. The dispute was more of the car should not be the power it is with the std injectors and the VF35 turbo, if I am getting 12.2 sec 1/4 into a 40mph headwind @ Santa Pod in a scoob with less than 350bhp I am a happy man Cheers Iain
edmondo Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I am sure a Rolling Road would sort that out..................Hint Hint
