Sump Replacement Required - Where To Take?

Hi all

Noticed a small oil leak under the car a couple of days ago and have discovered that the sump plug is leaking - threads are stripped.

Sump replacement looks like a fairly involved job, so I'm looking for some recommendations as to where to take it to get it done.

Would it be possible to re-thread (clean the threads) with a tap and die set rather than replace the sump? get them for under a tenner on ebay so, well worth a shout before you head down the sump replacement route.

yup, as above....

I also have a spare sump (EJ20) lying in the garage you can have for £10 if needs be. Its not pristine, but it doesnt leak.

I'm guessing the threads will be goosed, so I'm contemplating taping out to a slightly bigger size and getting a bigger plug.

This is a really common problem - I found loads of hits on Google for this sort of thing. Talk of taping and sealants but I'd like a good solid metal fix if I can.
