craigib76 Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 hi all had the engine out for the clutch i was fitting along with a service now its all back in it wont start think there is no spark so might have put a plug that doesn't get used in where the good 1 is supposed to go trouble is i cant find any that have the same fitting anyone (The SIDC Muppet-O-Tron has corrected your lazy use of the English language. Smiler AS Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 (edited) Any more detail? The guys have been great on here helping me out with mine over the last fortnight. Does it turn over and not catch? Just crank? Start then die? or nothing at all? Edited February 27, 2010 by Smiler AS
johnnyr6 Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 (edited) What model you got? Can you put a plug onto the plug leads to check for a spark? Also when the ignition is swithed on do you hear the fuel pump prime? The plugs on the loom should only fit the sensor etc they are for so you shouldn't be able to connect the wrong one (iirc). you've prob missed a connector or earth. Check the 2 main plugs at the battery are clean and connected correctly. You'll probably find it's something daft you've overlooked. Good luck, Johnny Edited February 27, 2010 by JohnnyR6
craigib76 Posted February 27, 2010 Author Posted February 27, 2010 i have a my93 classic wrx ra and its turning over and can smell petrol but just wont go as far as i can see i have all the connecters in the right places and all earths are in place with good contact giving me a headache lol both main plugs are connected properly and in good condition
colin_ross Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 If it's fuelling then it'll be a bad connection somewhere. As John says first thing to see is if it has a spark as that will rule out a load of things.
Smiler AS Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 My ignorance on early classics, do they still throw CEL lights and engine codes? Is there a CEL light on?
mk1cos Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 check the two plugs beside the battery, same problem i had, unplug and plug them in again
craigib76 Posted March 1, 2010 Author Posted March 1, 2010 What did you miss?
