think my big end has gone? does anybody know if you can replace bearings with engine in car or does the block need split?

As Big D said. You can barely get the sump off with the engine still in its place.

moved the car tonite and the engine went BANG!!! bits of metal lying about so new block needed.

I want to put a 2.5 in it with suporting mods up to about 330 bhp ish but she just wants it running so we r goin to wait till i get a job. If she wants it standard i might give her my engine and build my own monster.

If your after 330 ish a standard 2ltr (or 2.5) can handle that. So thankfully shouldn't cost too much. I run a standard 2ltr (over 100k on the clock now) and it runs 300 with a decat and boost at 1.2bar. Has been running like this for over 5 years.
