scooby222 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 anyone heading north for this? only 2 weeks to go,woo! also anyone any idea of what stages are being run this year?
thefastone Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Possibly, and no... Although, i THINK that if I do go, unless its a last minute thing, then I may in fact be marshaling a stage... as it seems that they have asked ADMC to borrow some marshalls... I said I might...
scooby222 Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 if you are up for it may i suggest a few beers afterwards? i do a very reasonable b&b package no one else tempted by it? looks like some snowy stages again this year

scooby222 Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 great start to the season yesterday despite tricky conditions in places getting up early, wrpping up warm, all the preparation made worthwhile by this site on stage 1 and compliments to the chef too....

euan_r Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 ya bugger dave. there wasnt anybody else from club with us. just as well as the route we took into stage was em..slightly off road and blocked by fallen trees, which dave just drove over i had a slight altercation with a security gate to boot.
fai17 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I take it willie flit sold it on then?Who's got it now? Davie Alan Doncaster...i think he finished in the top 30
scouk Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Nice! Any pics of the Lancia Delta that was suppsoed to be running? (Supported by Bitz Motorsport in Nairn) First local rally I've missed in years... Got 5 vehicles in the drive and only 1+1/2 of them are working.. It's a long assed winter
Robertio Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Have yet to get the picts off my camera, but as I took my cheapo snowboarding camera with me I imagine I'll just have a collection of blurry objects. I was somewhat disappointed this year, it looked like most of the cars were running mud tyres - in the sections we watched my snow tyre shod wagon would have put in a more than respectable display.
the_ex_leper Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 my mate was competing and said it was horrible no grip what so ever he felt like stopping it just wasnt fun he tried every tyre he could but still couldnt get grip most of the stages were solid ice or hard packed snow over ice he made it back in one piece but doesnt know how
scooby222 Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 what car was your mate in? will have some pics probably when i get them onto photobucket conditions were pretty horrid, stage 1 had been cleared by a plough or grader and just left polished surface with no grip, could hear all the cars short shifting round the sweeper i was at and still drifting wide
gambler Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Did anyone get pics of Jock Armstrong car no.2 he was overall winner. Or Peter Stewart who was running a blue fiesta ST with orange stripes. Car no. 86? I was up with Jock and driving chase car for Peter. Unfortunately did not get to see much of the action but what i did see was very very slippy. Jock and peter were both running snow tyres and still found it very very slippy.
