andyjudge Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Agree on the point about less people on the forums now, where's everyone gone ? I see an absolute ton of Scoobs in Berkshire/Oxon/Wilts in my travels so where's everyone hiding ? Have even splatted a few with leaflets around Newbury area but nobody seems to be forthcoming onto the forums let alone meets. Andy

andyjudge Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Indeed. I'm in Thatcham so Newbury's not an issue to me but yes I see the point of view for people having to travel. Maybe it's a case of putting together an event that give people a reason to travel, but not costing an earth to do once there (So Petrol is the only major cost). Methinks some headscratching for ideas needed here. Andy
edmondo Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 agree mate.................myself and Jacqui have travelled miles and miles over the years to various meets so Newbury to us is "just down the road". Swindon meets are very well attended however getting people to leave the area has been difficult so it has to be "a good meet / event "..........Stu's photoshoot was a classic example of this. I feel sorry for iain and Stu because sometimes it can be frustrating trying to organise "the right meet" Anyway as you live in Thatcham can you get Tazman to come out as well
myles Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Im sure Vimmy will be there on Sunday as well, as long as the ninjas dont take him down. Are you guys eating, as I dont think I will be? Just a few diet cokes for me!

Bushido law dictates it I'm afraid! I'll not be eating as it's Sunday so I'll be having a big roast with the rabble. Assumed that may be the case for many of you but don't let that put anyone off if they do want to eat... we'll just pinch a few of your chips!

I know Iain would agree when I say it's frustrating not having the member levels that certain meets/events require but hopefully, alongside the wider club activity that's currently being looked at north AND south of the border, we can really drive member levels up by getting our name out there and increasing our public profile Hopefully we can kick it all off with a nice big convoy for Iain's Beer for the Boys campaign!

Also for instance BBS has Launch motorsport and Tiley developments behind them which are both very pro active groups so there is always a lot going on so it would be good if there was someone on the committe or even 2 someones whose task it would be to drum up pro active people like the aforementioned to get behind each of the regions on here. I am hoping that Scoobyprojects ( who support P1 Owners Club ) will do the same for our region. As for Beer For The Boys.................CANT WAIT
Vimmy Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Sorry guys, yet again I cant make this one, as much as I want to. I picked up a back injury from the stupid ass chairs in work and have spent all week consuming pills and applying all manners of ointment to alleviate the pain to no avail, so I cant even get to my black belt grading, for which i'd spent 9 months preparing, so now its going to be another 6 month wait - at least the little ninjas didnt beat me up, this time.... With this in mind I'd expected a restful day at home with the feet up, but my work has yet another 'urgent' build required for monday or Jack Straw will want to know why not . With my contract ending in 4 weeks time the extra cash will come in handy, for the lean times ahead so I can't make it to the meet as my work end time is not known at all - really sorry, I don't want to let anyone down.
myles Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Dont worry mate, your back is more important. Here is some p0rn for you!!
Big 'D' Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Thanks to Andy, Myles and Stu for making this small meet very worth while, I think it is safe to say we will be back to our normal meet time as of next month. Cheers Iain
andyjudge Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Doh! just got home to find 15 cans of beer for the fund still in the boot. Will bring it again next time unless of course the handover happens before. Was good to meet up again, George will be happy that he can come to the next one. Andy
