marko72 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Happy new year to all. I am looking at getting a front splitter for my bug and I am interested in any recommendations you may have on what make/supplier etc? I have noticed the earlier threads about probs with snow/car parks and the like, but feck it im getting one fitted. Are these splitters easy DIY jobs to fit? What do you need to fit them? If any kind souls could be bothered helping me out fitting wise that would be muchly appreciated, or words of advice appreciated also. Thankin U Mark.
wulsey Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 You cant go wrong with the HT autos splitter mate easy to fit & great quality. Had one on my bugeye & have one on my hawkeye.

Richie Cross Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 My HT Autos has been fine so far. The front sits pretty low now I've got the coilovers fitted but didn't have any problems in the snow apart from it acting like a snow plough!!! It has been fitted with a few additional fixings though.
corsa Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 If you have loads of glue you can have mine!! HT are the biz but dont touch a bit of snow or look at them too long i have burst two. Go for it they look great. davie
Phil MC Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 The HT Autos ones are the ones to go for. I chanced my arm and managed to get one for the blobeye at the group buy price of £99 posted thru Snet, I think it's Mark you need to speak to (Just trawl through previous group buys and PM him). As said already, use all the fixing bolts/nuts and also fire in more self tappers along the middle section for peace of mind and you'll be ok. I also had one for my bugeye STi and it makes a huge difference to the look of the front end imho .
tomwrx08 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 (edited) ive got one fitted to my hawkeye ,its an ht autos one @ its colour coded , i used a few xtra bolts/nuts to make sure it wont budge a few pics to show u without splitter with splitter Edited January 2, 2010 by junior1910
C_WRX Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Another vote for HT Autos. I adjusted and fitted it myself, so must be easy ! ! I had mine colour coded just to have it blend in a bit more. In my opinion it gives a nicer finish to the front but it does make me a lot more wary about what I'm driving in towards - multi-storey car parks are a no no, not even going to try !! A before and after(pre-paint) :

Richie Cross Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 (sorry to hijack) Don't know how much the Prodrive sets costs but you could look at Zunsport grilles. The also do the chrome.
