Hi Bluepeter27 justs wants to say hi and ask a question at the same time please?

I Paying £405 per annum road tax for my Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon year made 2000, registered in the UK November 2007. My husband drives a Mitsibushi Lancer Evo IV year made 1997, firts registered in the UK November 2008 he pays £190.00 per annum.

Can anyone tell me why such a massive differance in premiums? it seems stupid to me that are cars are about the same spec and CO2 outputs or is he getting away with a lower premium when he should be in the same tax bracket as me?

Can't really answer your question on the tax, may be to do with the dates on the SVA paperwork used to register the cars here.

The Evo is over 10 years old so didn't need SVA'd when it was imported. Being under 10 years when the Scooby was SVA'd they will have put a Co2 value which means it is subject to the new banding as it is for cars registered after 1st March 2006.

I've heard of cars not getting a Co2 reading at SVA but is very rare.

Guys, thank you for your replys, that will explain it i have looked at my husbands logbook for his Evo and it does not show a Co2 reading on it his is classed a PLG !!!!!!! so he is getting away light!!!! my logbook shows Co2 emmisions as 298.
