TrackScotland Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 from a bumpy and wild Crail track Makes a change from KH as the 'only' track but wont be making a habit of it! - Me driving Impreza early on (pass was the guy with the blue impreza... Greame?) - Me in Impreza again, pass was the motorbiker dude - Impreza, me and Mass - Fee driving the skyline, with Rog/The Admiral - Me in the Skyline... with Dale
TrackScotland Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 some poop pics I managed to get between laps and at the end... smashed (hole clean through it) headlight Whats left of the Impreza NS Front tyre :/ and the skyline... lumpy!
green_goblin Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Good vids, your spin looked like fun Also seemed like a good turn out, I take my car to crail for the 1/4 mile but by the looks of things wouldnt take it around that track as it was really lumpy and sounded like there were stones flying everywere! Good show though
StewartyBoy Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Ive never heard so much noise fron the road!! Was it just loose!? Vids were good, just shows you how much punishment the gravel has handed to your tyres.
TrackScotland Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 the gravel didnt damage the tyre, its just the 'tar' or road surface at crail that isnt as smooth as the likes of KH. There was a lot of loose stones from new sections of tar (laid 2 days before!) Not the best prep/planning by crail... but it was still good fun!
arch Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 (edited) That surface does not look good. There are rumours that there may be a round of the Scottish Sprint Championship there next year dont think my tyres would last 5 mins there and cant see the guys with the single seaters being impressed with the potential destruction of their slicks Some cracking in car footage tho Edited October 18, 2009 by Arch
ciaranrb5 Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 The bit they gravelled was bloody dangerous I was properly sideways on it doing 60 or 70. My neaside front tyre kind of struggled Was fairly bumpy but to be fair I soon learned what line to take to avoid the holes Had a superb day but it aint cheap. Used £58 of fuel £40 for track plus 2 tyers at £83 each a grand total of £264 but to be fair the tyres needed changed before I went on track. Worth every penny in my eyes
