colin_ross Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I had pump fail on me, while I was driving it actually, so they can go. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge to check it? Would like to hear more about the strange noises though. What kind and under wat conditions?

colin_ross Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Almost certainly the pump then. It've a very popular mod to uprate the pump so most people know someone wth a spare standard one in their garage. Find someone local thats got one and borrow it to make sure before you go spending any money. It's not a big job, just make sure you disconnect the battery and remember the system could be presuriised alothough prponanly not if the pump or nrv is gubbed.

Thanks very much for your input, will try another pump, was going to upgrade it anyway. Fraz.
daves2rs Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Thanks very much for your input, will try another pump, was going to upgrade it anyway. Fraz. Make 100% it is the pump first before taking it out. Lift of the back seat and put a direct feed of power to it and see if it's fubar or not. If it's dead get yourself a walbro or a bosch. Bit of advice, keep the old filter sleeve as the walbro one is sh*!e.
Joe G Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Check the wire connector block under the rear seats that leads to the fuel pump. Had the same problem with my old classic and after bench testing the pump and finding it to be working fine EVENTUALLY sourced the problem to the dodgy connector block. Worth a look and you can check it by just removing the rear seat.
fraser_allan Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 Quick update, was the pump new one fitted what a transformation, must have been on the road out for a while. THANKS TO ALL THAT REPLIED. FRAZ.
