PPPPete
Hi There; Posted on the Tech part but thought I would try here Just had BC-Racing coilovers fitted to my STI (2005 model) and boy does the car handle amazing now One problem, tyres are rubbing the Inner arch plastic I think it's only on full lock but I need to take mudflaps off just to check it's not them that are rubbing when cornering hard. I have already raised them a little. If the noise is still there with mudflaps off then its the arches so i have two choices, raise car or try and sort the arches. Does anyone have any idea of the best way to stop the rubbing, such as heating the plastic or shaving it? I'm not sure It would be fine if the shape of the plastic inner arch didn't jutt out in a funny shape. Hope someone can help Thanks in advance Peter, Ayrshire Link to comment

scooby222
to add a couple of questions, what size wheels /tyres and have you any other suspension mods-ive an 05 sti with bc's and they catch on full lock since i had the anti lift kit fitted, but i am running 8.5" wide rims-no problem on standard wheels Link to comment
bobbyc
First thing I had to do when I fitted mine was cut 40mm off the front mudflaps & they still rub on occaision, sounds horrible as the noise is amplified through the chassis, running with 18 inch wheels & they clear both arches & inner wing (just) Link to comment
PPPPete
Hi there, thanks for the replies. Hypertech fitted the Coilovers. I have the Prodrive 18" wheels with 235/40 tyres. Mudflaps arn't a prob as i took them off and moved the bracket onto the next hole. Arches are rubbing on just shy of full lock, and when blasting back roads, a dip will catch the arches or going fast round roundabouts :-( Don't know the actual height but i can get my fingers (just) in between tyre and arch? I would raise the coilovers myself but not confident lol. I emailed hypertech and awaiting reply. Edited September 26, 2009 by PPPPete Link to comment
