The Project Has Begun!

Well some good news for me to put my mind at rest!!!

Before i left to go offshore for a month i just got the car finished.....then came the start up of the engine, fingers were crossed  but when started it was only firing on three cylinders...hmmmm traced the problem to a dodgy injector by pulling the HT leads while listening to the engine and found the noise didnt change when pulling cylinder No.2 HT lead!! So i swapped that injector with another and it seemed to follow!!!

But then i had to go offshore :D So i got the new Nismo 740cc injectors ordered (£600) But anyway they came the other day, so got my mate (who's garage my cars at) on the case of getting the new injectors fitted and just had a phone call from him telling me its now running sweet as a nut :P So now he just needs to button up a few we outstanding things and give it all a good checking over to make sure the water temps ok when running, no fuel leaks etc etc so all is good!!! :P

Its total peace of mind, as things started then running through my mind like......oh maybe its not an injector.....maybe its lost its map as its had no battery on it for like a month etc etc

Now all i can say is i cant wait to get home and start running it in.....ive not driven it in 2 months now so can wait just to drive it!!! :P:lol::D:P:D :D :D

Good to hear your project is coming to an end there....for the moment anyway.

What were the size of injectors previously?

Rich

They were Nismo 740's before......i had to put the same back in otherwise it would have ment a trip to andy for a map.

Aye that makes sense. Shame replacing 4 for 1 duff, I take it you couldnt find a supplier for one injector?

Jase, just wondering, your Parallel fuel rail mod, how much braided hose did you need? Also where did you get that and the -6AN fittings?

Cheers

I sent mef a private mail on scoobie net, he then sent me his address, i cut the rails and cleaned them up as shown in the thread then sent them down to him.....paid him £75 and he modded the rails for 6-an fittings and anodized them also, the £75 was including the postage for him to send them back to me!!

Got all the braided fittings and braided pipe from a guy on Ebay, this is the link to his Ebay shop Clicky

I got 4m of braided pipe to do it all but think i had a wee bit left, his prices are the best i could find from the UK and fast delivery.....i also made an error in one group of fittings i purchased which he spotted and got in contact with me before sending....top class guy!!!!

Hope this helps

I have been getting some replacement fuel hose and extra unions from here

http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/autofittings__W0QQ_armrsZ1

The original hose I had on the race car was from Pirtek and to be honest the quality is no where near as good as the stuff I got from the above ebay seller. My original unions were from the states, with various changes to the car I needed additional unions, but with the change in the dollar to pound exchange rate it made purchases from the states expensive. I have got quite a few now from the above, again and all are excellent quality equally as good as the ones I got from the states. Dont be put off by the fact he is in Hong Kong delivery is quick and I have not paid any duty on any of the orders I have placed (4 now).

Hope this helps
