TrackScotland Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Morning quick question.... What is a realistic target weight for a stripped out (but with multipoint CDS cage) 2dr Impreza? Its a trackcar, so has no stereo, heating/blowers, AC, trim. The electric windows will be junked for plastics too. John Stevenson and Arch - you may be the best equiped to answer this
arch Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Would think if you get down to 1100kg you will have done well Wouldnt think my car would be the best to use as an example though as mine is pretty standard apart from some interior trim and seats none of which weigh massive amounts.
l55bat Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I think if you are keeping the std panels etc and just removing all you can then adding a cage you will be at around 1150. Maybe 1100 if you really start looking for things to drill or remove. Cage and welds are going to add 60kgs.
TrackScotland Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 Whats the standard figure for a typeR anyway? There is a fair amount removed, and still a lot to take out... but the cage will have added a good 40-50kg back in. The grinder and hole saw havent been brought out yet, but they will be. So sub 1100kg is a target Good good - thats at least gives it a chance with the Skyline on paper (power to weight)
RA Dunk Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Good good - thats at least gives it a chance with the Skyline on paper (power to weight) Then after that it`s all down to the driver

Chris..
TrackScotland Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 If we are both around and both cars have working engines (doubt the Impreza will be knocking on 400bhp straight away) we'll be up for that. Hopefully low 11's for the Skyline
