mctwistuk Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 (edited) Well finally got round th getting the car mapped after a long hard save for various mods. Due to this being my daily driver i didn't go to overboard. I had a good chat to Andy and then it was off on the road for him to work his magic. He sorted out the rough idling due to fitting an APS CAI (which i may add sounds the dogs danglies;-) ). Car is now sitting around the 358 mark bhp wise and 377 torque wise. A big thanks to Andy and also to Peter who helped organise most of the fitting/supplying of most of my mods. The drive home was certainly entertaining and now to save for a bigger turbo lol Edited August 18, 2009 by mctwistuk
mystery machine Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Happy days! What mods did you make for this re-mapping? Was the car standard prior to that?

C_WRX Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Good stuff. Nice numbers, and most importantly you're pleased with how it runs. Reckon you can now update your signature comment at the bottom of your posts ??
Richie Cross Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Good stuff Chris. Good figures with the mods. I thought I could remember other 2.5 owners who changed the turbo etc only came away with about 340bhp?? At least the next remap, after mods, will be cheaper!
ANDYJDMSTI Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 At least the next remap, after mods, will be cheaper! So will yours Richie...........it's been proved you need them
mctwistuk Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 the first run to get my figures i lifted off the throttle a wee bit as i was not used to the power so only got 353bhp 376 torque but on the second run i got 362bhp and 379 torque so andy just averaged them for my overall figure.
mystery machine Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Cheers for detailing your mods. Power/torque curves look nice too. How much does Forrest charge for the mapping, if you don't mind me asking?
hi_jac Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Bet you couldn't keep the smile of your face on the way home Nice big spread of power now, have fun.
mctwistuk Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 check www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk if you are lucky sometimes people organise a group buy. The one that has just finished was 470 + vat. Chris
mctwistuk Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 Bet you couldn't keep the smile of your face on the way home Nice big spread of power now, have fun. Thanks Jac. Now all i need to do is get someone to explain the graphs to me lol.
hi_jac Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 320 lbft @ 2900 rpm is really good going. What boost is it mapped to ?
mystery machine Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Now all i need to do is get someone to explain the graphs to me lol. You can compare your results with the standard STI and the PPP STI here: http://www.prodrive.com/up/06MY%20STi%20PPP.pdf ...although you'll have to convert Nm to lb/ft, which you can do here: http://www.onlineconversion.com/torque.htm
Richie Cross Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 So will yours Richie...........it's been proved you need them There's no shame in being left standing by your machine!!! Do you know many other owners? Saw one in Ayr last night with personal plate of Pro 2??

sparky_sj04 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 You go out and drive the car while he maps it Stoo. he's got a laptop and all the gear connected and you just do what he tells you.

Chris you'll probabaly find a difference of around 20bhp and 20lb/ft of torque between Andy's figures & a rolling road especially Dunc's I did, but when you fit your turbo your torque will be even more awesome, yea second gear is real fun
braveheart Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 There's no shame in being left standing by your machine!!! Do you know many other owners? Saw one in Ayr last night with personal plate of Pro 2?? Good figures should be pleased go and enjoy it now , there not that fast well not all of them Chris
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Nice broad torque curve my man ! If I were you I'd stop the power race there and spend yer dough on brakes and suspension. It will make for a faster weapon alround ! I am seeing Andy F on Friday too.....think this is my 6th remap now so I have a little routine which involves getting bacon rolls and a full tank of v-power before hitting Port Seton and then drooling at the contents of the Bat Cave. The APS is awesome eh ! Adds nicely to the turbo spool and exhaust note These god damn scoobies are a rollcoaster of modding highs and lows. However, when you hit the first section of National Speed Limit after leaving Andy's it's haaaaaaaaapy days.
