matthew_buckland Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Someone has tried to steal my Pa's scoob again tonight, for gods sake he is 76 years old and doesn't need it, around 10.35 a blue blob came down the road (dartford) and parked in front of it with the engine idling for a few minutes then roared of fairly quick, at 11.30 a car came down the road a loud smash was heard an my dads alarm went off, they had put the drivers window through. Now we dont know if the blue blob is involved but it is not one that was recognised as local, god help them if they are seen again. I hope it wasn't a stolen one and that they are cruising the area looking for a few. Make sure all yours in this area are secure tonight.

Sorry to hear that, horrible to think a Subaru driver would be responsible for the theft of another Subaru. Not good, hope the window is quickly repaired. Did they nick anything out of the car?
matthew_buckland Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 No fortunately the alarm scared tem off, we fitted it after the door lock was done 18months ago, its a 1.8 auto wagon, not a turbo, stupid people.
psigeek Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Bloody hell. Sorry to hear it! Did he have scenes of crime out?
matthew_buckland Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 Police came out 2 hours later and said there's nothing they can do as no1 saw anything, looking at scoob today its obvious that they have tried to force the window outwards as there are 2 nasty dents and scratches on the door frame where they have used something to prise it, it went with an almighty bang and showered the road and whole side of car in glass, and hopefully the person (if thats what they are) trying to get in.

granby Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 how do you stand with invasion of privacy sh17 in what way
quentin_moss Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 how do you stand with invasion of privacy sh17 If you mean due to the fact the camera will be looking out onto a public place you will be fine as long as your only using it to protect your property, no pointing it at young girs / boys bedroom windows. It also will only really work if you get something that will pick up good night images due to the times these things normally happen, and that sort of gear dont come cheap
matthew_buckland Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Pa's ordered his cctv, its a high res infa red night vision thingy, so hopefully next time the undesirables come by we will get there mug on dvd.
