evil_scoobs Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 I already have a powerstation remap on my Import STI and I was wondering if anyone had a remap from somewhere down south like powerstation , didnt do any mods then let Andy remap it if it is likely to be a waste of my money other than the possible small tweaks but unlikely to get any more noticable power out of it? Ive got 345bhp but only 320lb/ft just now but not sure if that is the car or the remap Would you do it if it was your money?

I would say save your money TBH, its been mapped already, another map isnt going to give you much if any more
Neil82 Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 I'd have thought with a exhaust system, filter and a remap on a JDM twin scroll you should be making about 370-380 lbft?
evil_scoobs Posted July 18, 2009 Author Posted July 18, 2009 I did hope that the car would make more as it doesnt seem to be making much more than a remapped UK car, but looking at Andys site, with the mods I have he estimates it should be 340-350bhp but I dont think it mentions torque What boost are people running with 350bhp ? mine peaks at 1.5 but drops to about 1.0 by 6k revs

Casper Spec D Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 (edited) I have around 350bhp and 388ft/Lb torque and boosts to around 21psi and backs off to 19psi but mines is a 2.5L and I think yours is a 2.0L as its japanese import.hope that helps oh and the car was mapped by Andy F Edited July 18, 2009 by Casper Spec D
neil_joyce Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 So am I right in thinking if it`s had an Ecutek map already then the licence had been paid for. Therefore another map by AndyF would be cheap enough so I`d probably go for it. My JDM had been mapped by a so-called expert but I always felt things weren`t quite right. No other mods were done between maps but there was a significant difference. I couple of hours with JGM and I had a completely different car, not only quicker but definetly smoother and sweeter I`ve not idea of bhp figures as it`s drivability that counts for me and it`s certainly drivable now.

dipsy Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Maybe he needs a uprated waste gate actuator hold a bit higher boost than 1bar higher in the rev range

It has an ecutek remap but I think because Andy didnt do the original remap its not quite as cheap as just a remap. I think its double the price. Im not sure there is an issue with holding boost, its maybe just mapped that way as you dont always need high boost at the top end to make the power, so was curious what other owners were using boost wise at peak revs. I will dig out my rolling road map with boost curves and see what you guys think. 350bhp with 380lb/ft would be awesome! Thats like an extra 60lb/ft I thought powerstation were THE place to have cars mapped down south?
john_stevenson2 Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 (edited) I'm sure if you email Andy he will give you sound advice as to what might be the best answer... though you might ned to wait as he's a little busy Edited July 18, 2009 by John Stevenson
P1_Paul Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 If your boost is 1.5 bar plus, then torque should be higher, at least 350. You might have a problem with your NPS, it can cause problems with your AVCS activating.

NPS is the Nuetral Position Sensor, it basically tells the ECU when your in gear, if it is faulty the AVCS won't engage and you'll be way down on torque. Failing that you may have an issue with your boost.
