deano p1 Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 hi there im louis. im new to this site but was wondering if anyone out there could help me ive got a x reg p1 ive recently reset the ecu and i was wondering if theres a certain way i should be driving it for a while to set it all back up again because it doesnt seem to be going as well since the reset thanks guys.
deano p1 Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 just drive it ok cool nothing technical then should i take it easy?
Big 'D' Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 No idea if this works but may be worth a go ECU fast learning trick on scoobypedia As 'the 1' has said it is just a case of driving the car to allow the ECU to learn again this can take some time. Cheers Iain

Big 'D' Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 ok cheers big d will maybe have a go at that I am certain that varying your driving (low speed / cruise / full boost runs) speeds up the process It is safe to run your car as normal. Cheers Iain

Big 'D' Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 If you think the 'flatness' in running is more than just the ECU reset just let us know mate and we will help you out. Cheers Iain
the_1 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) my god is that still doing the rounds when i used to go up to i.m on courses they were all laughing about that procedure and how it gets you an extra 20bhp needless to say it doesn't work, the guys in training school will tell you all the ins and outs of why and what not but all it's good for is getting your brakes hot!! iain is correct just go out and vary your driving it learns within a few miles all it's ignition timing and curve so if your only doing a couple of miles a day it's probably still on choke! do a reset and go for a blast! Take the thing out for a good run with a bit of every type of driving mixed in.
