killbill Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 hi all just new here forum looks great. i am just about to px my car for a uk turbo wagon but have had some second thoughts. i would just like someone with the knowledg to help me out here. car has high miles 125,000 and its 1996,but the car has just had a new engine fitted (full top end from subaru) fitted by hypertech and backed up by a full receipt of £3500 inc labour also with new rad etc the car is very very clean and has had a full respray in its origonal colour so is in very good condition. everything els is spot on. the way i was looking at it was the engines gonna last me a long time but having second thooughts. what yous think ?? cheers
killbill Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 also whats a rough valuation of this car,i had a look but the prices vary so much on ebay and piston heads. the guy who owns it said its worth about £3500 ?? just dont wanna get ripped off with a px for my shogun
Richie Cross Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Hello and welcome C'mon the wagons!!!! Any pics or further spec of the car? I love my wagon but there will be others along who know more about the classics. All I can say is if the work was done by Hypertech then you have nothing to worry about. You can do a search for them and you'll see nothing but praise.....in fact there's a current thread running!!
scooby222 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 with a new top end fitted by hypertech you shouldnt have any worries with the engine,my concern would be that the gearbox is still ok. i know others will disagree but i reckon 3500 is pretty high for a 96 uk turbo wagon with high miles-id be thinking 2200,but thats without seeing the spec condition of the car but you wont regret getting a scoob mate, just make sure its the right one
killbill Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 (edited) yes cheers guys for replies its pretty much standard full stainless de-cat front to back induction kit turbo timer dump valve strut braces grooved n driled discs uk wagon in full white with veilside front bumper full MOT lots of receipts inc work from hypertech very clean inside too with no rips etc Edited May 28, 2009 by killbill
killbill Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 yes i have been wanting one for the last 10-15 years and finaly got the chance of one,so thought i would get shot of my 4x4 and try get a nice scoob now am at a reasonable age for insurance
billyboystoys Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 nice wagon but thats not a standard spec would like that bodykit on my wagon at that price it only covers the rebuild .only the high miles would put me off .billy
killbill Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 yes cheers am not put off i was just curious as to how well the engine would hold out after the work, but having read a few posts on here i can see hypertech are a highly thought of crew. just looking forward to getting car now to be honest :)
scooby222 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 yea, thats quite a long way from standard mate! looks very nice! has it the wrx interior,ie bucket seats? with the work and mods on it makes it much harder to price so 3500 maybe isnt too far away-if your happy with it go for it!
killbill Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 yes it has the bucket seats with grey inserts, pod gauges etc etc yes i am going with it will post up some better pic swhen i get it unsure on what power its got but i read that standard they have 208bhp so thinking it might have about 215 or summit. will try get it on the dyno
