mctwistuk Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 I thought it would be next year before i got my remap but i have managed to save the pennies and am looking at August time hopefully, My list of mods so far are: aps CAI walboro fuel pump meercat sportcat downpipe exhaust system which has been heat wrapped sfs afta maf hose performance friction front pads recirculating oil catch tank The car has had it's 30k service so spark plugs have been renewed. I seem to have covered off all of the mods on Andy's mod list and went a wee bit further with the CAI but just wondered if it was worth porting the standard headers and heat wrapping them, just heat wrapping them or leaving them alone? Am welcome to any comments/suggestions. cheers Chris
westtra Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 get your self on the remap group buy thats running just now with andy forrest.
mctwistuk Posted May 24, 2009 Author Posted May 24, 2009 (edited) has anyone ported standard headers on a hawkeye sti and had it mapped? If so what were the results? Should i get the pops and bangs turned on or are they annoying? Can Andy vary the amount as i would only want it to be subtle lol. chris Edited May 24, 2009 by mctwistuk
cullenmin Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 The pops and bangs are a great laugh, and it is controllable (just like a dump valve). You don't need to be popping and banging everywhere if you drive normal. Its a great laugh and I do miss my pops and bangs....it also becomes a talking point at meets etc Its all up to yourself, you may however get bored with it. Mine did it when I decellerated from 4000 to 2500 revs. I don't think you can have different levels, its either on or off to my understanding. Rich
scooby222 Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 ask Andy but for my 05 sti he didnt reckon the headers would make much difference on the standard turbo. he recomends uprated sparkplugs tho,pfr7b's a colder plug. otherwise i just changed to silicon boost hoses all round for piece of mind
