Hi all

I have noticed a few of you are interested in going to the Pod for some drag racing action, it was pointed out to me the other day (Thanks Ben ) that USC is on at the end of July, if any of you fancy going to this event and perhaps making a weekend of it please let me know and I will get planning for it asap.

always attend usc one of the best shows of the year,and a good mix of cars

so i'll have to say, yes

and dont worry ian bring a good f/exting and give the fmic a blast just before the run...

most people do just for that extra bit of bhp

I'm at some wedding in Drabingdon in tails and wearing a cavat (sp) on the saturday!!! Ribbons on the Scoob, yeah baby!!!

Probably able to come up for a day maybe 2.

Tho i def wont be running to be honest unsure if the car will take it aznd I dont wanna be emabarressed getting beat by a golf or the engine going ping in front of 100's of people

Reason i mentioned it was i was looking at doing my first run down the strip this year.

Me and a mate were already going and was after discussion with Mr D about when he was next at the Pod for some hands on advice about Launching this cropped up.

After watching the vids of every one of his last runs on errr, more times than is healthy to admit to in polite company, I'm now convinced he controls that car using the power of The Force alone!

LOL, no one is going to disagree there mate.....

Isn't it a 3.5K and feed the clutch nice and steady????

Nope its 3.5 and drop the clutch , the only problem is that 3.5 is a good launch rpm for mine, other cars will have different setups and the launch will be different. The idea is to get the maximum amount of forward motion without wheelspin or boging the engine, takes a little practice but once you get a feel for it you can hit it right almost every time.

Been going to this event now for 6 years ! Its a must ! Beer and BBQ's and not forgetting the lap dancer's Just hope this year stays dry ! Have fun guys ! Club booked and tickets ordered !
