Big 'D' Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Lets not start this again, the issue is for now resolved - end of please. Cheers Iain
Big 'D' Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 question if i may?has anyone given the car a good hard thrash yet? Yes
the_1 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 someone needs to go for a good hard drive in it and then let it idle but watch the temp gauge
edmondo Posted May 9, 2009 Author Posted May 9, 2009 question if i may?has anyone given the car a good hard thrash yet? yes there was a "spirited" drive............and all seems to be well................I will take her out for a journey to and from work ( Swindon - Bristol ) at some point in the week
the_1 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 ok if you have and it was ok then it must just be the matrix letting the air in
Big 'D' Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 someone needs to go for a good hard drive in it and then let it idle but watch the temp gauge Been done mate, what are you getting at? Still thinking head gasket, the car was run at idle for damn near 15mins then taken for a full bore run up and down a private race track then parked back up with no change in temp etc all seems good. Cheers Iain
Big 'D' Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 ok if you have and it was ok then it must just be the matrix letting the air in Must have been, the leak is not that big though to be fair and the air lock was still present with the matrix bypassed at first prior to draining the system down. Cheers Iain
edmondo Posted May 9, 2009 Author Posted May 9, 2009 You are very welcome (again) In all fairness Ed if 'the 1' had been present and seen the car for himself, I am 100% certain the outcome would have been the same Cheers Iain Cheers Iain who knows? ..................maybe!..............however you made the effort come down and sort it for us....also you was the one last Sunday to give a "damsel" in distress a hand.
the_1 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 it's odd like you say ian but hopefully fingers crossed and all that it is just that matrix, it may well have been leaking for a while before it was noticed which is why it got such a big airlock. anyway it's sorted now

Cheers Iain
