hawkins Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 Cheers, can you recommended an oil please. Silkolene 15W50 Pro 'R' Ester Synthetic any good? thanks
hawkins Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 or Silkolene Pro S 10w/50 Oil seems expensive?
stum450n Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 You're using the car to commute a relatively short distance so I would use the 10w over the 15w. You looked here?
hawkins Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 Daily commute is 28mile round trip, do you think Silkolene Pro S 10w/50 would suit? seems like most people recommend it. cheers

Yeah, would imagine it'll be fine. I was going to use it on my last change but I ran out of time and ended up having to get the only fully synthetic they had in the shop in witney!

hawkins Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 Won't take scoob, pop over with family etc..... if weather good. Thanks for offer hope weather is good for you guys as some muddy cars might occur
Big 'D' Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I use a 5w50 with Prolong AFMT, 10w60 is really too thick for a road car, I normally say that under normal driving with a little hard driving a 10w40 would be just fine but as mine gets driven hard fairly regularly I chose to go for the 5w50 or 10w50 option either of these would suit your car mate. Cheers Iain
hawkins Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 Cheers will go for 10w40 or poss 10w50 any brands recommend thinking millers 10w 40

Doh !!! Offers ended but check out Opies prices anyway, I know it was cheaper for coolant than buying from Halfords etc.. over the counter when I swapped my Rad Edited April 30, 2009 by andyjudge
